Photo Mechanic can be registered on a compatible device by choosing the “Register” button from the software’s start-up screen, and entering the user’s License Key.
If you need to change computers or have planned maintenance come up, you can Deactivate the software by choosing “Help” from the top menu, then “Licensing > Deactivate This Computer.” When Photo Mechanic has been deactivated, the software will exit and require a License Key to open again.
If you have lost access to a registered device due to damage, theft, or just forgetting to Deactivate, you can recover that activation through your License Portal account at https://users.camerabits.com/login.
If logging in for the first time, choose “Forgot Password” and set up your login password. Once you are logged in, choose “Licenses” from the menu on the left to see a list of your licenses and their current status.
Click on the license key you need to update under “License users/key” to open the License page. Then on the License page, choose the “Devices” heading to see the computers that have been registered to your license.
On the right-hand side of the device listing, click the horizontal dots under “Action”.
- If the device is still in your possession or was properly sold, choose “Reset” to remove the device from your license activations. You can register another device in its place at your convenience.
- If the device was stolen, please contact the Support team so that we can “Revoke” the device, which will remove it from your license and prevent all future activations on that device.
